Happy New Fears!

 

This month we got a little BAD News and
a whole lotta GOOD News!

 

FIRST, the BAD NEWS: Hexacord-America will be CLOSED from January 22, 2004 through January 30 2004. It is recommended that you hang onto your orders until February 1 – just in case of some unforeseen server glitch. Orders received during that time will be shipped when we re-open!

 

Now, the GOOD… no, let me say GREAT NEWS!

 

New Italian Soundtracks – including Argento’s LATEST!

 

Coming in January, is the brand-spanking new release of Claudio Simonetti’s score to Maestro Argento’s latest - IL CARTAIO. It’s on Simonetti’s own Deep Red label, which will mean that it is going to be a GORGEOUS package and that it’s gonna cost a little more. Sorry for that, but trust me, it’s worth it.

Also due in are three highly collectable Morricone scores: a newly remastered edition of the complete score to the  ever-popular  IL BUONO IL BRUTTO IL CATTIVO (The Good, The Bad and the Ugly); a wonderfully gothic soundtrack to Pasolini’s cult film IL FIORE DELLE MILLE E UNA NOTTE and a rather experimental score to the Giallo/Horror film LA CORTA NOTTE DELLE BAMBOLE DI VETRO.

Finally, while not  “genre” soundtracks by any stretch, we will be carrying an incredible TWO CD set of Nino Rota’s scores for Fellini! This DELUXE edition will feature THREE COMPLETE SOUNDTRACKS – Toby Dammit , and ROMA.  This one isn’t going to be around long, so get it while you can!

From the Land of the Rising Sun!

For all of us around Hex-America, this stuff is a REAL COUP! As any genre film buff knows, Japan is leading the way in creating some of the most creative, innovative and truly FRIGHTENING films out there! Not only are the films terrific, but there is some really incredible music going on in the background, too. The question has been ‘Where, oh where can I get this stuff?’ At last, the answer can be fully revealed, GET ‘EM HERE! Coming in January are the soundtrack CDs to BATTLE ROYALE, BATTLE ROYALE II, JUON/JUON 2, RING – THE SPIRAL, UZUMAKI and my personal favorite, the incredibly creepy KAIRO! A word of caution, this stuff AIN’T cheap, but it’s HERE!

Dude, Where’s My Dollar?

We are sure that all you financial wizards out there have already heard that the US Dollar is trading at all-time record lows! While this is allegedly GOOD for narrowing the Trade Deficit, it is spanking our bottoms at Hex-America – HARD. While we will make every attempt to keep out prices competitive, if the dollar continues to head south, we will be forced to raise our prices, if just to avoid becoming a “Not-For-Profit” enterprise. There are no plans to do so at this time, but… YOU WERE WARNED!
