The bucolic English countryside is the setting for this Spanish-Italian co-production from 1974.

A successful variation on Romero’s seminal NOTLD, this one stands bloodied head and shoulders about many less successful imitators while in some details, anticipating later developments of the genre.

An exciting and eventful story, outstanding actors and strong, but not outrageous gore F/X from Giannetto De Rossi. Unusual and highly atmospheric music from Giuliano Sorgini (including the odd zombie moan and evil laugh thrown in for good measure – SCHWEET!) adds to the overall impact and quality of this zombie masterpiece.
