A young couple (Catriona MacColl and Paolo Malco) have had enough of loud, noisy New York

and rent a house in new England. Their son is soon troubled by strange apparitions during which a strange girl appears, and becomes his playmate. The husband starts to investigate the house’s history and discovers a terrible secret: a mysterious Dr Freudstein was the house’s previous occupant, who performed unspeakably cruel experiments upon his own family. Soon, it becomes clear that Freudstein still lives and is seeking new victims in the cellar of the house...

For his last classic horror film, Fulci signed on Romano (Walter) Rizzati and company to provide the score. This is a really cool soundtrack with music from three different composers and makes for very interesting listening. Classic Frizzi-type arrangements get mixed with a more Goblinesque Prog-Rock vibe and loads of atmosphere from all contributors. All-in-all, a solid soundtrack to a much loved horror movie.
