Two 80's Lucio Fulci movie soundtracks on one CD!
Cult director Lucio Fulci (along with Claudio Simonetti and Fabio Frizzi) requires no introduction
here and will always have a place in the heart of horror fans.
"Conquest"(1982) is a small, trashy Sword-and-Sorcery epic that was filmed on location in Mexico.
Thanks to a stark naked Sabrina Siani with pasta-faced monsters, and a healthy portion gore,
still manages to delivery the goods. Goblin keyboardist Claudio Simonetti’s minimalist electronic
score works more for atmosphere here than in his collaborations with Argento.
While “Manhattan Baby” (1982) has had it’s critics (this is Fulci’s take on the old
'archaelogists open Ancient Egyptian tomb and release evil spirit' story), it is text-book
Fulci with his trademark surreal dream-like mood and beautiful, haunting imagery. Fabio Frizzi –
a frequent Fulci collaborator, provides a hooky, atmospheric score slightly reminiscent of his
music for “The Beyond”. Which is not a bad thing at all. Certainly a must for any Fulci fan!
