So what film was it that Takashi Miike was making last week? Oh yeah,
his trubite to the whole “Ringu” phenomenon – “Chakushin Ari”
(You’ve Got a Call). Actually, to date, this has been Miike’s
most commercially successful venture with Japanese audiences,
and easy to see why – the ubiquitous cell phone, a super-hot
starlet and of course, the vengeful undead are syre-fire recipes for success.
As for the music, regular Miike collaborator, Koji Endo has provided
a plenty creepy and effective electronic/cut-up score. Definitely in
the same league as KAIRO. A nice touch is that most of the tracks are
titled after telephone numbers. Cute.
INCLUDES MAIN THEME SONG SUNG BY KOU SHIBASAKI – Uber-Babe at large!
