…Happy Birthday to Yoooooou! It’s the Big Five-Oh for the Big G and Toho has launched a series (?!?) of deluxe, heartbreakingly beautiful box sets, documenting the complete soundtracks of the longest running movie franchise in history!
This is a lovely set that is only compromised by your inability to read Japanese but the discs themselves are completely remastered from the original recordings (and in most cases, vastly superior to the previous releases on Fantasyland, etc). Tons of bonus tracks are included, featuring alternate takes, Karaoke versions, source recordings and sound FX.
Those of you who missed out on the Futureland releases should get this set as soon as possible before it goes out of print. And naturally for highly devoted, fanatical fans and completest (like me) buy it anyway.
One other thing to help you decide: these sets will contain bonus CDs that will be exclusive to these sets, most of them will be reissues of older King Record CDs such as Godzilla Sampler, Ostinato, Symphonic Fantasia, etc. These King CDs are now also out of print. For anyone who missed out on them before, these new boxed sets offer a way to get them again.
