Who’d a thunk it? Is there really more to French Horror than Georges Franju and Jean Rollin? Well, if this largely ignored body-count film and the shattering “Haute Tension” are any indication, it is definitely time to pay L’Ecran Fantastique a second regarde…
This CD is a truly creative “soundscape” – almost a sonic representation of the film, featuring short sound FX, snippets of dialogue (not much) edgy modernist orchestral episodes, some gothic rock hyjinx and even a few tracks with a noir-ish jazz attitude.
Sit back with a sack of “Freedom” Fries, and a hunk of some stinky cheese and be creeped out!.
BTW… IF and WHEN a soundtrack CD for “Haute Tension” becomes available, we are SO THERE! Stay tuned!
