With Quien Sabe?, director Damiano Damiani created one of the most
effective aand satisfying films of the Spaghetti Western genre.
Featuring an excellent cast, including Gian Maria Volonte (“For a
Few Dollars More” and “Face to Face”), Lou Castel and even a bit
part from a suitably histrionic Klaus Kinski, the production is
topped off by what is perhaps Bacalov’s greatest Western score.
Drawing upon the Latin American inspirations of Aaron Copland and
Leonard Bernstein, Bacalov creates a sweeping, mono-thematic, richly
orchestrated vision of the West that never was.
Tracks include the Original Parade Album in a new stereo mix, the
complete orchestral film score (in a remastered mono mix), six tracks
of “source music” and two BONUS tracks of alternative version of the song “Ya Me Voy”.
Without a doubt, this is one of TWO absolutely essential Spag Western
soundtracks that MUST be in every collector’s library! (The other is
of course, Morricone’s “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly”).
