MORRICONE/PASOLINI Morricone, Ennio Italian director, screenwriter, essayist, poet, critic and novelist, Paolo Pasolini was murdered violently in 1975. Pasolini is best known outside Italy for his films, many of which were based on literary sources - The Gospel According to Saint Matthew, The Decameron, The Canterbury Tale and of course, the notorious Salo – ir the 120 Days of Sodom.. This is a really great collection of Ennio Morricone's soundtrack work for Pasolini’s films -- featuring tracks from a number of scores that we've never seen reissued before! The mood of the set varies, from the surrealistic score for UCCELLACCI E UCCELLINI, the appropriately folksy excepts from LE STREGHE and I RACCONTI DI CANTERBURY to some VERY creepy cues for TEOREMA and SALO' O LE 120 GIORNATE DI SODOMA. The program is rounded out by a special ommagio (with spoken text) composed by Morricone in his most modernistic style. THIS is an extremely important document of cinematic collaboration not to be missed!
